Risk Navigator Strategic Risk Management (SRM)

Risk Navigator SRM(external link) is a strategic risk management process developed by the RightRisk(external link) Education Team. The team’s comprehensive risk management program includes a web site (www.rightrisk.org), the SRMP 10-step risk management program (and tools, see below), an extensive risk management library, and a realistic risk-simulation program called AgSurvivor(external link).

The SRMP process is divided into three main parts: strategic, tactical, and operational. These parts are further divided into 10 specific steps for the management of any operation. The process is cyclical, with feedback and reevaluation as conditions change. The circle reminds us that risk management requires continuous evaluation and adaptation. Management decisions are based on the operation’s goals, actual performance, and consideration of current and future conditions, which are affected by risk.

The Risk Navigator SRM(external link) toolbox contains over 40 individual tools to assist managers begin analyzing and managing the risks they face on their own operation. These tools are available on the web, free of charge to anyone who would like to access them. Click here(external link) to access the Risk Navigator SRM toolbox online.
